Da Vinci's mother was a peasant father was a bastard ! But he was at least lucky enough to hav "ser Piero da Vinci" as part of his birth name indicating his papa was a gentleman . ;)

There was about 200mil people on earth around his birth in the spring of 1452 a year after Chris Columbus born in over in Genoa 1451 , wonder what Leo would say now ? Even God has limits as we've seen so little of him around in the last 2000yrs ... must be wonderful to be a dead beat father like "God" and no one to enforce the alimony or child support checks . (who impregnated Mary ??)

If there is a "God" out there , sure has an interesting way of doing things ? <g

( and he gave all his moral authority & power to greg or e !)

that's what you call a "parabolic chart" ...might think of shorting this in about 80-100yrs right after peak oil .

"Leonardo da Vinci was not a wanted child."

The world is lucky to have had him. Let us not forget the gazillions of da Vincies who never tumble out of the nap sack...they are all very human--defective in missing some chromosomes--but human nonetheless and very much alive. They just require an appropriate environment (an egg) and then an appropriate environment (a womb). And then perhaps an art studio...

"Despite many claims to the contrary, life does not begin at conception: It is an unbroken chain that stretches back nearly to the origin of the Earth, 4.6 billion years ago. Nor does human life begin at conception: It is an unbroken chain dating back to the origin of our species, hundreds of thousands of years ago. Every human sperm and egg is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, alive."

Carl Sagan

LIFE is what is important--not the name tag of the species or the guy sitting in the third row. LIFE. LIFE. LIFE!

And life is a lot too complex for homo wise ones to control. If we respect human rights and freedoms and try to transact business with civility and defend our families (our mothers, our sisters, our daughters) against the greg or ees of the world...then we will be doing ourselves proud as a species.

In our enlightened times, da Vinci would have been aborted.

Every child a wanted child only sounds compassionate, it translates into every unwanted child a dead child.
