I have a mac Mini that is misbehaving.

I do too...

mine is having problems at start up....I get a spinning icon for minutes at a time, until I unplug & try again. It also has a very hard time "waking up" from sleep mode.

similar problem?

Of course. But you can and should ask the question on the board. There are a lot of experienced and competent people that respond. I have made use of it a number of times and still read some of the posts of interest to me.
