I took it in to Apple yesterday for a different problem which, of course, could not be replicated once I got there. I have 21 days left on Apple Care. If it's going to crap out on me I hope it does it soon.<<

I'd advise taking it back to the Apple store if the fan keeps running, or at minimum calling Apple tech support to make sure that the problem is logged with their system. That way, if the thing is a few weeks past the end of the contract, they'll most likely still fix it, because you'll be able to prove the problem began before Applecare expired.

But a fan running constantly at high speeds is already a problem that should be fixed under Applecare.
