Well as someone who took time and effort to go to the republican caucuses and place a vote for Ron Paul, you should know I have very little faith in politicians. I want smaller government - but I'm also realistic enough to know that other than nibbling at the edges, we aren't going to get a smaller government. I thought maybe when Bush was nominated, some progress could be made towards smaller government - instead, he and republicans grew government and grew it significantly.

My original comment on calling Tim on his lies about SS - were specific to that issue. You say you don't know a republican who wants to "defund" SS and then in the next breath you maintain you would opt out of SS if given the chance. BUT the most disingenuous statement is to you claim SS isn't a separate account and then say you could invest the money better. Which argument do you want to take; that SS is a separate account - or that it is just part of the income tax and as such there is no promise to future Americans?
