I've noticed Hallmarks closing around my area. Those card prices are one of my pet peeves, 3 bucks for a piece of paper? I go to the local Dollar Tree where they sell all the cards you need at two for a buck. Much more reasonable and the cards are just fine...

Regards,
John

PM,

Eight bucks? Really? Does it sing, have a dancing animal, or spit on you?

I mean, WTF, 8 clownbucks is nuts.

But you know, I've been seeing some crazy prices out there on stuff. It is certainly not across the board and my seeds for my annuals were still just a buck at Walmart, but a couple of aisles away extension cords were just priced stupid. The wave is starting to break on the shore. I'm seeing a lot of creep in cleaning products, simple plastic gizmos, and those once a quarter items (like Ziplock bags, foil, or trash bags).

And don't get me started on Kohl's pricing. There are still deals to be had for someone paying attention, but they have shifted the base price like mad on the MAJORITY of items. My staple black T-shirts are now on sale for 16.99 and I bought the exact same shirt for 9.99 all of 2010 and 2011 (I buy a lot of them, as black has a shelf life <g>). And 459 list for a freaking Vera Wang queen comforter with two pillowcases and a bed skirt. Blow me Kohls.

Ben is screwing us royal.

The lady scanned it and asked for $8.00.

Hyperinflation?
