There just are no other serious contenders for the position. I don't know where you get the idea that God is hiding His identity. Is the Sun hiding it's identity because you can't stare at it and keep your eyesight or approach any closer than millions of miles away without being incinerated? The incarnation of Jesus the Christ, proves that God has revealed Himself and that He loves his creatures enough to die for them.
