I am growing weary of blaming Obama for the POO. Am I an Obama supporter? God, no! But I think it cheapens the message and insults my intelligence to put the blame for the current price of oil on today's President. What's happened to people's memories? We had 8 years of an "oil-friendly" President from 2000-2008. The price of oil went on a steady climb from about 2002 until it hit its all-time high near $150 - them's the facts boys! If it weren't for Lehman Brothers and the dominoes that fell afterwards resulting in the worst financial decline since the Great Depression, the POO would not have dropped back down to the $40s. Using the price of gasoline at the beginning of Obama's term (near the deepest point in the financial crisis) as a measuring stick (as many of today's ultra-right politicos and candidates are doing) is disingenuous at best and extremely misleading. Yeah, it works on the mis-informed, easily led masses, but it insults me. If this is the best that you can come up with as a reason for me to vote for you, fuggetaboutit!

Full disclosure: I am conservative at heart, but left the GOP during the first Bush administration. I fully despise both parties in Washington, whose only interests are being re-elected and raping the system for more $$. We had 8 years of a supposedly conservative administration, four years of which all three branches were controlled by the GOP. Take a look at the climb in the national debt during those years. Conservative??? My A$$!!!

End of rant.
