TT,
Many thanks.
I thought it works, but had no proof.

<< the system produced impressive results for trades on the long side but lost money when it came to trades on the short side>>
This is expected.
This system is following medium term market trends. When the long term trend is up it is easier to make money on up medium term moves then down ones.

Please post or email the statistics:
# of signals generated.
Ratio of winning trades vs. losing trades
Average % gain of winning trades
Average % loss of losing trades
(over the period in check the %age of a point change in the OEX has chaged considerably, so in order to give same weight to early loss or gain and recent ones the rate of the index at close should be divided by the rate of the index at the opening of the trade)

<<If you intend using the system you may wish to consider using a filter >>
Of course I would.
Refining of such a crude system is in order. It will lose money any time the trend is sideways.

To use the same system on individual stocks would IMO require changing the long and short EMA period for any stock to be followed.

Again muchos gracias.
