Because little children are not taught Greek history in Sunday school or encouraged to emulate their mores. The Greek culture is not sold and proselytized as an infallible moral guidebook which MUST be accepted and followed to avoid being judged a sinner and a wretch! And because there is nobody here pretending that Greek gods and myths are anything other than fictional. When human beings allow human beings to sell brutal and ugly as wonderful and good, they do humanity a great disservice. Silence gives an unspoken justification to evil and to stupidity. And all instances of stupidity strips some beauty from the world...
