"That passage is an historical description of the evil that men are capable of when they turn away from God."

Hmmm....but Lot did the same thing (except for the horrific desecration of the dead)--he offered his daughters to be gang raped. And then this fellow violated a value that sickens the hearts of all decent humans--he desecrated the dead and he receives no angelic or godly reproof for this vile crime. And I agree--this was disgusting and evil but you seem to be missing the point. God inspired the bible to be written as His Truth and as His Divine Wisdom. Yet God calls Lot (who also impregnated both his daughters) "Just" and "Righteous".

So when you call this man evil for offering his daughter and his concubine to be raped and very probably killed by very beastly men, and then cutting up her dead body against all the standards of human decency--and yet you have nothing to say against yahweh's opinion of Lot...it causes one to suspect the moral fiber that keeps you walking (presumably) upright.

What do you think about how snail-like is Yahweh's comprehension of moral values when He thinks Lot was "Just and Righteous" when you and I (mere snails) think Lot was a son of a bitch-and the Levite, too!!

Yes, this fellow (who was as much a murderer as the actual assailants) is never upbraided or held to account. Remember, we are talking about the guy who wrote the bible and decided WHAT was worth writing about--the same guy who executed an old man for gathering sticks on the seventh day (LOL!)! :-(

Indeed, we may assume by the similarities to the "Just" and "Righteous" Lot, that his repugnant behaviour met with Yahweh's esteemed approval.

I am glad I have brought you a small step forward in admitting the brutish evil in the bible. WE HAVE A LOT MORE TO COVER...
