One cannot say that anything is just a human convention , like all other creatures we are shaped & molded by that surrounding envirionment and internal needs & reality of living in our chosen habitats . Where you get right to attach "non binding" onto this for the sake of weaving straw into gold , is beyond me . If the will to survive & self procreate has any binding quality to it which obviously it does universally , to care for & seek to sustain one's immediate family or tribe or nation , how do you get from these overwhelming imperatives to non binding ?

Think for a change , about what is too obvious .

"morality is nothing but a human convention"

Morality is much more than that. And it certainly has nothing to do with "nothing"!!

Why do you liken human morality to "nothing"??

You are WEIRD!!

Morality (from the Latin moralitas "manner, character, proper behavior") is the differentiation of intentions, decisions, and actions between those that are good (or right) and those that are bad (or wrong). A moral code is a system of morality (for example, according to a particular philosophy, religion, culture, etc.) and a moral is any one practice or teaching within a moral code. The adjective moral is synonymous with "good" or "right." Immorality is the active opposition to morality (i.e. good or right), while amorality is variously defined as an unawareness of, indifference toward, or disbelief in any set of moral standards or principles

"A convention is a set of agreed, stipulated or generally accepted standards, norms, social norms or criteria, often taking the form of a custom.
