<<<<<Stopping all the wars does not close the deficit.>>>>>

Of course not! Why do you make this stuff up. What I said is that if you need extra money to pay out SS that you could stop the wars. That the war money could go to SS - NOT that it would balance the budget. You have no idea how hard that will be to accomplish! .........Look, some of the people here are pretending the fix put in place by Reagan to fund SS when the baby boomers hit retirement wasn't a fix at all but a gimmick I guess to steal working mans wages to fund the government. That the trillions borrowed to fund the government - including fighting the wars - was not meant for SS at all. That the loans from the SS fix were not loans at all - but why do we pay interest on that money then? ..........SS was running in the black until just now when Obama cut the payments going into SS. I don't know who is the biggest fools here; democrats for allowing Obama to defund SS - or republicans for now allowing SS to be considered part of the overall government spending and debt - like Tim is doing.

SS is NOT going to end. Even weaning people off is hugely expensive because as you know todays workers pay for todays retirees. If you take Tims ridiculous thinking, then we might as well abandoned SS deductions from your check and include it all under the single category of income tax. Conservatives would be wise NOT to let that happen. With SS as a separate item - it has a limit. Or did until just recently.....Tim should be very careful about what he hopes for.
