Sure it would - IF you reestablished the tax cut put in place by Obama. Despite what some say - SS is NOT a problem. Medicare is - SS isn't.

Why shouldn't we at least be honest about where the problem is and fix that? Do you want SS to go away?

Steve, What is wrong with you today? SS was in deficit before the tax cuts. If it went back to surplus for awhile with an economic recovery it would soon be back in deficit. As long as it is in deficit it is converting debt as described. Do I want it to go away - no - where do you get that nonsense? Do I want it to be fixed - yes. Do the Feds owe it money - of course. Is our debt greater than 100% of GDP - yes - and we should realize that.
