In your opinion, what drives the more distant Brent futures prices?

Katy, I have no idea what is driving the significant backwardation in Brent other than an expected return to prices driven by supply/demand. That seems unlikely to me since we always seem to have multiple crises revolving around crude supply.

I am simply in the camp that believes that, while US influence on oil prices is still significant, it has diminished dramatically in recent years and will continue to diminish in future years.

Others believe it is all about US supply/demand and the US dollar.

Take your pick and place your bets.
