yes john, it really is a screwed up system. i read an article recently on Huffpo about our health care system and one of the comments was from a person who lives - i think malaysia. anyway, she was saying how she was proud to be in her third world country where a doctor visit runs ~ 75 cents US and a stay in the hospital ~ $2.00 US per day.

i'm sure this friend could have found some assistance with obtaining the meds he needed but as my priest mentioned - its frequently a typical male response to just ignore health issues.... esp in a situation where not taking your medication doesnt affect the way you feel:

they dont call high blood pressure the "silent killer" for nothing
