The last ten years have been the worst of the most recent decades. A very imbalanced time for sure. Funny I believe the places that were hit the most from the housing crash have a better foundation for future opportunity. NYC with it's high RE prices, high cost of living, 2M on welfare and too much of it's economy dependent on finance is at very high risk for a lost decade.. Not sure I'd want to be a high paid techie in SV either with a $700k mortgage on a 50's shack that was probably worth $100k in the early 1990's..
