I don't get it! Borders makes money only one quarter of the year, yet they can't get their act together in time to launch a website to take advantage of the big season - the only season for a bookseller!

It's indicative of poor management. They missed the year on the internet and fell further behind the incumbents. This flies in the face of all those posts about "ease of entry" into the internet book market. If Borders, with all their resources and bookselling experience, can't get a webstore ready for Christmas, how can others do it so easily?

I wouldn't count on BGP to sink AMZN. Amazon's stock may be over-priced, but the market leader always sells at a premium. They haven't lost their lead to BKS; they're not likely to lose it to BGP. Stock price may go down, but predictions it will crumble are irrationally exuberant.
