<<<<Don't switch the topic, please>>>>

I did not switch the topic! If your check has a deduction for a "separate account" - SS - How is deciding what should be done with that extra money switching topics? It is the essence of this entire discussion. Surely you can understand that.

What do you think should have been done with the extra money deducted from your check to address demographics problem of SS?

Do you think we should have waited until demographics would make it EXTREMELY hard to maintain SS?

Do you want to end SS?

If you want to do away with the separate account of SS - you do understand where this will go - don't you? If it is combined with all taxes as you and Tim seem to believe, then there is no reason for the separate tax - no separate tax no separate tax. That means the lower income people who generally ONLY pay a SS tax and no income tax. Obama has started that trend with republican support. That means SS ends up coming out of the general fund just as you and Tim try to be claiming today.End result - transfer of wealth! What in gawds name is wrong with having the people who benefit from SS paying for it?
