Ridiculous. Of course Social Security is broke. The country is broke. What will we do when we actually have to pay off those Social Security bonds and not use the money for other current expenses as we do now.

It is like using your retirement savings for current expenses and then expecting those IOU's to be available when you retire. If we can't pay our current bills without relying on social security funds, how will it work when we can't do that anymore and have to pay back what we borrowed.

The fact is that cannot and will not be done. Taxes would have to be increased beyond what is possible.
