Does that mean we don’t need to butcher animals and give 90% of it to the larder of the Priest and his family any more? Does not mean the defective nose of Yahweh (who could only smell the “sweet savour” when the flesh was burned and the smoke carrying the particles reached his smoking nostrils) will be satisfied through some other mechanism. We don’t need to force offal off the sacrificial floor down a woman’s throat to test whether she has considered adultery? Not anymore, you say?! Because somebody died, you say?
