The remarkable characteristic of Japanese and American indian cultures, are directly traced to animistic traditions, cultures wholly in harmony by genetic memory, with the land and space where thier incarnations sustained them as peoples. These features are to be celebrated and to be respected...

Don't know if you read my tree hugging post but I agree on the respect angle... however as great sentiment as it is ..

those same people come into conflict with their own cultures wrt the modern world and the global community .. looking at the dichotomy for North American First Nations talk of maintaining the old ways and ties to the land while wanting all the modern conveniences is instructive...

Key difference between the Japanese and NA First Nations is that the former never had the reservation effect.. (internment camps not the same) which IMO has been bad news ... Was an interesting time I spent as a kid in Cranberry Portage.. Natives all about... They cannot be painted with one brush...

Your links are in reverse and I notice hat you consistently write thier for their.. :O)

Do not see how the links relate to the first statement.. ??
