That would be a great outcome even if low probability. Another problem however is that Iran's nuke program is broadly backed in its society. Even the "moderates" and those outside the regime express support for it. It's become not just a Muslim thing but also a Persian Pride thing.

So it's possible we could topple the clerical nuts and yet the replacement regime would still pursue the bomb.

This situation is such a tangle. I don't think anyone really has a clue what will happen, including the top leaders of all the countries involved.

I guess we'll just have to run the experiment and see.
