Do you know how Clinton was able to achieve that favorable trend towards a balanced budget? He raised taxes and decreased military spending.

And the Republicans forces restraint on domestic non-entitlement spending, and the baby boomers where in the peak earning years rather then retiring like they are starting to do now, and the tech stock bubble generated a lot of revenue, and he was able to decrease the military budget because of the end of the cold war, and the fact the Reagan had rebuilt and restocked the military.
