It's funny that someone would write an article saying that the LTE speeds and high definition video capabilities of the iPad are some kind of "trap." Does the high cost of cellular data apply only to Apple products?

I guess it makes sense to the extent that almost nobody is going to try watching HD video on an Android tablet over LTE connections because almost nobody has an Android tablet capable of doing so.

For quite some time I have maintained that it didn't make sense to watch streaming video over cellular connections, and this is only one reason why. This is also one of my arguments against having very limited local storage on a mobile device and storing everything in the cloud.

If I want to watch movies on my iPad I will download them over my home network so that they will be available even on an airplane or other places where I might not be able to get a reliable cellular data connection.

Video Speed Trap Lurks in New iPad

Sheesh! What speed trap? The headline makes it sound like it's Apple's fault. Everyone wanted speed and they got it, so what's with the grumbling now? People can always switch off their 4G/LTE connection and go WiFi. But guess what, they won't. Not until they go broke. Don't blame Apple if these folks can't control their urge for speed. <LOL!>
