Obviously a lot more drinkers than woodworkers on this thread....

Never been on construction site where half the crew wasn't Gimletized.

Maybe I'm missing something while Apple is flying high today.

They don't know what they're missing.

Woodworking:

Splinters, nearly cut off fingers, almost drilled hands,
walking out of the "wood" room covered with sawdust...
(using the router is the most fun...)

"honey I'm done!!!"
"you don't come near me until you shower!!!"
...trudge off to bathroom, leaving a trail of sawdust...

and beautiful functional things made exactly the way you want it!!!

unless you got a measurement wrong even if you measure twice cut one,
then perhaps the space needs to be altered not the wood... :-)

costs $$$ but you get to keep the tools and the stuff you make is usually useful in the future,
and like stuff from the store might not be as good (compressed wood $#!t - ugh)

but takes time

but is fun (usually)

more advantages:

Lifting the 4'x8' plywood sheet without assistance builds the muscles!

converting fractions and figuring proper proportions exercises the mind!

making a mistake in the cut exercises the vocal chords!

Drinking:

Compared to drinking - you drink, it tastes good (???does it really???)
You get drunk
You stagger home
Hopefully someone doesn't take advantage of your condition along the way.
Damage your liver
And not so good for other things in your body
You smell funny for a while (don't light a match)
You might throw up
Costs $$$ which you use up

I think I pick woodworking over drinking.

Just don't mix the two though...
