It's not just tough to satisfy everyone, it's impossible. But I've opened up the topic for discussion in order to get a feel for the general mood. So thanks for your thoughts.

Anyone who is reading this and who doesn't post is welcome to comment as well.

OT

I have contributed to some OT stuff on occasion but I would prefer things to be more on topic. I don't post all that much but I read everything and am amazed sometimes at how many posts I have to get through before I see something that is relevant to investing in Apple. At the same time, I rather enjoy the friendly atmosphere that this board has. I guess it is tough to strike a balance that would satisfy everyone.

I agree with this completely.

What if we tried to preface our off topic posts with OT at the top? That way, when looking at the thread listing of posts, the OT ones can just be skimmed or skipped entirely. Does that sound possible?

I've sometimes used the OT designation myself on off topic posts, but I usually forget. What if we, as a group, try to make more of an effort to use it when appropriate?

Just a thought...

It would be nice if the admins added an OT button that would work with the ignore thingee.

Its really a usability thing.

Some of us have been around so long we are friends, and friends talk.
