I was giving targets by position assuming full leverage, not portfolio returns. With excess leverage not used and losses from misses, the actual result is the same as yours. What I don't want to do is target 2-3% and have losses cut it back to 1%. I also will ramp down when the mkt says to. I also carry substantial hedges which do lose $5-10K per month on average so real result is 2-3% at best per month.

The main reason I do it this way is it gives me a method to compare assets across time and allows me to ratchet down in times like now. It also keeps me out of ATM situations.

Remember this is only 1/3-1/4 of my assets too.

Do you cash collateralize your sales? Many do.
