To All:Cash position.

Does anyone know how much cash ibm has before the 11/21/97 debt offering?

Art, I agree re. the good 4th quarter, but Applied Materials (AMAT) just fell after announcing good earnings and revenue growth. Like IBM, AMAT is a dominant firm. IBM seems to be showing good strength lately, but it's status as a safe haven won't be enough to keep the price up if the market tanks. If IBM shows weakness tomorrow, I will probably sell. I hate to do that since the Wednesday before and Friday after Thanksgiving are historically the best days of the year to be in the market, but fear seems stronger than greed lately. Wish we had a crystal ball. There is little doubt that IBM's trend over the next six months will be better than the overall market. How the market will do is the question. Good luck. Scott
