I went to the PFE SI thread, and the latest entry was 11/17. However, I couldn't find any negative comments about sildenafil on their own board. Why is it that we constantly see the Muse bashing on our thread? I recognized some of the same screen names, and they behaved like real pussycats. Maybe the true Vivusonians should become more active over there!! Maybe we should fight the Viagra proponents on their own turf?

Cacaito, Re your Nov 24 1997 1:47AM EST post : ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. This is the only peer reviewed article published on Viagra. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL. POSSIBLY TOMORROW I will post it here, when I have some free time ( scan and post ). This is the article were the 1 hour waiting time is described, and the video stimulation for 2 hours, and the researcher ( Boolel )clearly tells you at the end that you got to have some residual function left for Sildenefil to work. This is not the panacea it is meant to be. I will also begin to post these articles inb the AOL Motley Fool thread. One of the concerns I have is the retinal degeneration that multiple articles in the ophthalmological literature in 1997 have now demonstrated to occur when there is any manipulation of the retinal phophodiesterase system whether through the phophodidesterase gene or by affecting PDE through various chemical subastances.Tsang and al in Science postulate that continued phosphodiesterase inhibition ( such as would occur with sildenafil ) results in cyclic GMP increase ( as in the penis ).The high cyclicGMP levels may keep cyclicGMP-cationic retinal rod, visual receptorsCONTINUOUSLY OPEN, leding to an overload on the rod photoreceptors,,resulting in rod degeneration. Retinal degeneration is one of the leading causes of blindness. This could be connected to the " blue halo " effect that has been reported by some Viagra patients.It could be that their retina is constantly stimulated ( as in an erection ) resulting in overload/overwork and their retina is starting to degenerate. The Tsang article is in Science, ( 272), May 17 , 1996, 1026. They haven't gotten around yet to bathing retinal cells with sildenafil;not that it is published at least that I know off. I ca assure however that there will be a plethora of experimentaion on it soon. retinal phosphodiesterase research is a hot subject now in blindness research. If any link is demonstrated, I can already see the famous attorney who is onto the Redux case getting hold of it.This guy gets intimately involved in the reseach community and this is how he latched on to Redux.The case was written up in the Wal St Jour and BigKNY3 may remember reading about it. It should be remembered that Phoshodiesterase inhibition is rarely specific and that there is always some degreee of cross reactivity to other phosphodiesterase sites.So that if the retina cross reacts then, ........ I will post all these articles as soon as I can scan them. Vivus, a great buying opportunity.Just bought the March 30 calls at 2 1/16( that I had previously bought and sold ). IMHO for vivus, the best scenario is that Viagra willl not be approved because of side effects, eye? cardiac? The worst scenario is that Viagra will be approved because it treats a pimarily different population( mainly inorganic) it will b e used WITH Muse for a better bang. Separately, NEITHER medication, alone, is up to Tarzan calls regardless of your broker's opinion. TA
