Craig, I thank you for your very thoughtful response and I understand Richard a little beeter now. Thanks.. One more thing before we return to business....I am not new to trading...just new to trading short term.

the list of books I have read are as follows: The Compleat Day Trader, Trading without Fear, Technical Analysis Explained, Trading For A Living, Technical Analysis From A To Z, Marketwizards 1 and 2,
and My all time favorite....Reminiscences Of A Stock Operator.
and I am almost embarrassed to admit....all of Wade Cooks books...
I believe you can always learn something...even from a comic strip sometimes<S>

It is not that I don't know TA i just do not trust my ability to make formulas. So I thought I could come to this thread with some ideas and "we" could all benefit from everyons input. I am not looking for a "one hit wounder"....I know that does not exist.( OH...how I wish I did)
but it don't..<S> ANYWAY...Richard if your reading this..PEACE!!
I do apologize..I am not a fighter..thats why my wife wins all the time.

Craig...Yesterday I mentioned a chart formation called a" Island Reversal"..and made a hokey chart..I found a real one.....Please take the time to look...it is on the TRW chart and peaks in July...look at what this did....it looks like a very strong bearish sign. And thats why I asked if it were possible to wright a formula to find this pattern.

hope you were short today <S>
Greg

Craig, I put in the volume and now it just gives me stocks up on volume. with or without the gap. What am I doing wrong.

Thanks greg
P.S.
I also went at it on my own here and failed...I put in the RSI and VOLUME...trying to catch "power boxs" and It pulled up the exact same stocks as did the gap up w/volume...weird.....I'm scratching my head?????? (for testing I am running the S&P 500)

OH..one more thing..I understand you can pay Equis to help you design a formula..has anyone used this service??
