Rod,

If you have trouble with your K6, buy a decent motherboard. I've used Aopen MB in dozens of systems with K6, both AT and ATX and they work great. Not one customer has problems with it.

Come on, why are companies on the stock market always completely great or bad? Face a little reality. K6 is a great product, thats why the stock run up so good last year, even to a level where it was really overvalued. Than there was a consolidation, which is normal after such a run up and the expectations must be fullfilled with facts (earnings, sales,...). It is the yield problem which sended us down.
That doesn't make the K6 a bad processor. If AMD had posted earnings which were more or less in line with expectations, we would have been in the 50's or 60's by now. With the same product. I agree that AMD missed it again, but they did it this time in the production, not in the design. In the meantime, Intel is closing the windows and I'm not bying AMD right now, I wait and see how those yield problems get fixed. I think a lot of people have this attitude right now.

Amd has problems, sure, but don't blame it on the processor, because thats not true and you know that.

greetings,

Bert
