I wouldn't arrive at a summary judgement like you did in your post. Instead I agree with your post that we still need to "assume he is innocent until proven guilty." But he needs to be in custody for safety's sake. Who can say that he will not be involved with another such incident or that a African American youth would walk upto him and shoot him. They should do what they do with police officers when they shoot someone in the line of duty which is suspend the officer. I wonder if they had a psychiatric evaluation of Zimmerman. The police chief could have at least ordered that!!!
