I contend a Republican can win independents without pandering to the left. But that defies the conventional wisdom of the conventional Republican brain trust.

The GOP is cooked if it is dominated by the turbulence we have seen this election cycle. Those who continue to resist Romney as the nominee, in the name of some kind of purity, are contributing to a Barack Obama win in November.
