Well, you know how often the Wall Street Journal 'dart portfolio' outperforms the best brokerage advisories!

But the willingness of people to bet blindly on everything going up ...well no need to say again what that means. Burton Malkiel (of "random walk" fame) says the most reliable sign of the end of a bull market is terribly low dividend yields. And we certainly have that.

Bilow/Others:

What does your put portfolio consist of. I have evaluated and bought puts on several stocks, notably mu, gtw and even trow and motorola. I must not be purchasing them at the right time because they are doing little if anything today.

A second question for you. How do you determine if a particular foreign market is over/under or fairly valued. Is it possible to form some type of benchmark in relation to the GDP and the stock market evaluation? Kind of a like a price to sales but in the aggregate. Do you know where I could get these numbers ? I am interested in comparing the valuation of the Japanese market in relation to their gross domestic product and comparing it to the US for example.

thanks for your reply
