I had a similar reaction, but in retrospect it is simply an example of a politician putting her responsibilities and her state ahead of her personal ambitions. In time, that will become the historical record. Would that it were not so rare. I do accept that many were turned off by her resignation as governor, as I frankly was at the time, although I have come around to the view that it was justified by the media circus, personal attacks, family considerations, and financial circumstances of her legal defenses that all existed at the time.
