"My administration is working hard," he told the NAACP at its 100th anniversary conference in New York, "to lay a new foundation for growth and prosperity that will put opportunity within the reach of not just African-Americans, but all Americans. Of every race. Of every creed. From every region of the country." Obama added: "One pillar of this new foundation is health insurance for everybody."

My guess is BO knows socialized hc has been proven to be a failure, but imo he and his fellow travelers in congress are using it as an excuse and have an entirely different motive for implementing it. Not to say even in its present state it couldn't be improved upon, but the left used to have more control of the money through the welfare system. I think Ocare is more about controlling the wealth of this nation and determining where and how it will be spent than implementing a health care program that works for all citizens. Obama is no Lenin. But he, too, thinks the state can provide medical care more equitably and less expensively than the "selfish," profit-oriented free market.
