What special tax treatment did the GOVERNMENT give Toyota other then tax incentives by state governments to attract new business.

Oh, are state tax incentives somehow exempt from free enterprise purism? I don't think so.

I live in Al...my state put up billion range packages to attract Mercedes and other foreign automakers...that's big money for the state and it comes out of the pockets of those of us who live here...same for SC, TN, KY...now i understand how things work and I am not complaining...but let's not be rubes and think that somehow GM and Chrysler are unique in receiving public help.

BTW, if you missed last night's segment on Sergio Marchioni (Fiat and Chrysler CEO) last night on 60mins it's well worth the watch for an insider's perspective. Listen to Marchione describe what Chrysler did in two years...nothing short of amazing....listen to him describe the management he found there...same company, new management.
