Glenn, I'll gladly stand corrected on this, but I do not believe that options qualify for long-term capital gains treatment, regardless of the holding period. The capital gains rules used to require ownership of a tangible capital asset, and an option is associated with a right, not a capital asset.

Any tax accountants out there care to weight in?
