People said the same thing about Micky Mantle when he got his liver transplant.

Cheney was on the heart transplant list for 20 months. I'm sure being a former VP didn't hurt, but he didn't walk right in and get one.

You are so right-------what ever happens the green with envy, hatred comes in to play.

Of importance in the article--------is this paragraph.

"More than 3,100 Americans are waiting now for a new heart, and about 330 die each year before one becomes available. When one does, doctors check to see who is a good match and in highest medical need. The heart is offered locally, then regionally and finally nationally until a match is made."

I have a friend from 15 years ago-------who got so weak he could hardly walk. The University Hospital in Virginia had him on the transplant list------a young man died in an automobile accident and had directed that his heart be used for a transplant, an option we can check off on our driver's license. He and his wife were called to come immediately-------within a couple of hours he was getting a transplant.

About a year later I saw them and he was like he was 20 years younger and doing the things he had
enjoyed, including working on the farm.

Another one is the gentleman who is now about a 100---------his transplant was done at about 90----piano is his passion, until he had the transplant he was a vegetable unable to function the heart revived him. I have lost touch on that story, never made the news.

The Left is still trouncing Cheney. Are they saying that 71 y/o's don't deserve to live? Does that include Jesse Jackson....?
If Jesse Jackson needed a heart transplant, he would be on the same waiting list as Dick Cheney.

They are just a few months apart....

Jesse Jackson born October 1941
Dick Cheney born January 1941
