There was a nice discussion of the Trayvon Martin case on Diane Rehm this morning. Worth listening to. Good panel. The discussion left me wishing it would have gone on for another hour (or two), and was a little more structured, describing why black and white people fear and mistrust each other, why the "Stand your ground" law is a lousy law, why this case is making international news, and what "should" have happened. However, despite its brevity, it is still worth listening to. Emmitt Till 2? Race relations in the 21st century.

I agree completely about Caro. I am pretty sure that C-Span will do an interview with him at some point in the next few months on the book. He has been on the station a few times in the past. Here is a link to one of them, on the second volume of the series on LBJ:

That sounds like it will be a compelling book. I'll put it on my list. Right after the Steve Jobs bio, which is after Thomas Daniels' new book about Meriwether Lewis (of Lewis and Clarke, but you knew that).

Here is a wonderful 3 hour "In Depth" interview with Robert Caro, done in 2002, after the second LBJ volume was completed:

Highly recommended if you have the time.
