To all: If you can read this, please be informed that the
SI posting mechanism is still working. However, I believe
certain typos that seem to be occurring with greater
frequency may be the result of early Y2K tremors within
the internet.

Someone has also informed me that certain sarcastic comments
made on this board, or remarks intended to be in some way
humorous, may also be somehow caused, provoked or elicited
by Y2K, our perception of Y2K, or the act of thinking about
Y2K, and, therefore, the act of posting information about
Y2K. It follows naturally, then, and without strain outside
ordinary strain, that although we may not be able to
influence the erroneous data that appears on our computer
screens caused by Y2K, itself, we may be able to limit the
erroneous information appearing on our computers by stopping
all Y2K-related posting activity.

I will look into this further.
