Bit from Harmon this a.m......... <<<<PSINet, Lone Ranger Your article on Psinet (ISR, 11/20) hit the nail on the head! This stock has been a wallflower at the dance, and it seems that the CEO has been approached, but as he stated at the annual meeting, "We are not going to give the company away". This was in response to many questions about the lacking price of the stock and the potential for a takeover. I feel that they have received overtures, and it appears that the offers are too low or the asking price is too high. Either way, Psinet seems to be marching along with solid plans to grow on its own and remain independent. It appears that a deal will be in the works in the future, and I agree that the foreign money buying it is very possible and is a scenario that is being overlooked. The Internet and telecommunication industries are growing and changing so rapidly that predictions of the future mergers are anybody's guess, but the obvious is that there will be a continued string of consolidations. Hopefully, as a shareholder of Psinet, my prediction of success for Psinet will prove correct." Reply: PSI has one of the few remaining independent Internet backbones in existence, others have been acquired or are part of larger communications companies. With a footprint in North America, Europe and Asia, and peering and points of presence, it will probably get increasingly more difficult to build out something like PSI without incurring great expense. This is what the board rooms at Sprint and France Telecom ought to be debating today as WorldCom and MCI eat their lunch (and breakfast and dinner very soon also). isdex.yahoo.com >>>>> Fenton, thanks for the reply...I have read your posts before and am assuming the"we" you refer to is your company/partners. I am assuming you are sincere in your posts and not some clown invesor trying to give the impression that big money is jumping into PSIX....no offense, of course, I have seen it before though. I have enjoyed your contributions though, keep it up!! good investing to you all, cg
