That's true. They know if they betray their Grover pledge they'll be out next election. Not necessarily so if they betray their oath to the constitution.

Brian, I'm almost through "The Cult of the Presidency". The author takes almost 300 pages plus notes to make the case that the right Is also guilty of many transgressions against the Constitution. Republican stretches usually involve national security, where there is no bright line. But they do exist.

Deference to original principles is little more than a fading memory.
