PM,
The volume today and price movement is the result of the way the market works. Monday morning the customers holding AVNT got phone calls from their broker explaining the price drop last week and asking for a decision as to weather to hold, sell, or buy more. The calls were meant to initiate some action from the customer, the broker makes money from buy or sell but not hold. The rec is either one or the other. A "buying opportunity" is always a better story for the broker than "take the loss and get out" because he/she was wrong and got you in this dog. Lots of buying opportunities will be created as this stock moves to single digits and the brokers will be there to create them. The run up today following Fridays action has given us yet another chance to short some more shares, or you can go long like the amateurs are doing on advice from their brokers tring to make some sales.
