I am also an ASIC design engineer, and have evaluated Rambus'
technology with an eye towards using it in our products. Rambus
technology is good technology, but it will not speed up memory
access times. The problem they are attacking is a packaging and
routing problem: they can deliver the same memory bandwidth using
fewer pins.

This technology will definately find a niche in the technological
world, and I believe that Rambus is a good company that will
remain profitable. However, there is nothing in their technology
that would support a P/E of 675 and a market cap of over a
billion dollars. I expect that their stock price will eventually
fall to a more reasonable, and stable, value.

Sincerely,
John Wallner
