Going for single payer doesn't mean getting single payer.

I think he's right. A win here most likely would be a Phyrric victory.

PPACA doesn't work without all the pieces. Well, it doesn't work with all the pieces, either, but without the balancing pieces it will spin out wildly and that's either disaster or a trigger to replace it. Of the various alternatives, single payer is the most likely to prevail.
