He defends a position so that makes him an apologist. The position he defends is one critical to the Christian position, so don’t quibble! Even I have said often that there is nothing to certainly state that a Jesus of some sort did or did not exist. But that is not the argument as you well know with your red herrings stuffed in every pocket! As Ehrman says…this Jesus bears almost no resemblance to the gospel Jesus--to the “Christian” Jesus as it were. The fact that this ex-fundamentalist now reputes the “gospel” historicity of Jesus ought to be the essential fact you take from this instead of trying to make useless points by quibbling. Buck up and speak like a man. Even Ehrman (brainwashed in the Christian dogma from his youth) tells us that the gospel Jesus is myth...stuff and nonsense!! But if you cannot see that by a quick reading of the bible, then you are too ignorant to be discussing anything that adults discuss. You ought to be coloring between the lines!
