AS long as the trading exchanges can balance the money on both sides of the bet equally (which is why transparency is needed), and as long as the government is not obliged to rescue anyone who bets incorrectly, I think we are good to go with the products. Although I will admit I do not know enough about the leverage factor to comment on it wisely. I do agree that we have to have rules in place that would limit the ability of any one individual or institution to bring down the financial system. In other words, keep the baby and throw out the bath water.
