"Amendment II. A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Why is militia mentioned at all, why wasn't it simply worded " the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Would be no question then.....all persons would have that right, but well regulated militia is entirely different....not even just militia, but well regulated militia..
