Bingo! I'd argue that that is the exact disconnect that has so many Americans disengaged. It's the "What's The Matter With Kansas" syndrome. We're fed an increasingly right-leaning, authoritarian, elite-serving slate of candidates and agendas. Over time the norm shifts in favor of the oligarchs and we accept it as status quo.

"Voting for the lesser of two evils is still evil." Never more true in my lifetime.
